My name is David W. Matthews, I am the owner of Carol’s Kids Tutoring Services, and have been a Private Tutor since 2008. I have an MBA in Health Services Administration, and have spent nearly twenty-five years in the public health industry, with two decades of that time being in leadership roles. Along with prioritizing students and their families I am a Research Scientist with Columbia University’s School of Social Work and the CUNY School of Medicine. As part of my volunteer activities I am the Education Committee Co-Chair for the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Inc.

The mission of Carol’s Kids Tutoring Services is to support students of all ages with strengthening their approach to their academic growth and improve grades, while building the confidence necessary to be more empowered in their studies. And, to do this in ways that are personalized, interesting and enjoyable.

Carol’s Kids Tutoring Services support ALL students interested in getting from a 0 to a 101; from an F to an A+. We aim to: help motivate students, build over-all confidence, improve test taking skills, and assure that students situated in communities of color are exposed to the same learning opportunities as other communities. Athletes will be able to maintain their grades so that they can continue to play, and be strong recruits for top colleges. LGBTQIA+ students can feel safe with our tutors. Older students will be able to achieve the certifications they desire.

An important perk of Carol’s Kids Tutoring Services is that we come to you. Whether it is in-person or virtually, we will meet you at your home, the library, the school gym, and even the hair salon. Carol’s Kids tutors will do their best to work with your scheduling to provide services.
